Santa School Graduates 2016
Meet 2016’s graduating Santas and Mrs. Clauses from Calgary’s own Santa School. If you haven’t heard of Santa School it’s pretty awesome! Santas and Mrs.Clauses from all over come to Calgary and train to be, well, a better Santa/Mrs.Claus!! They are taught how to create that Christmas magic and joy.
It’s quite a sight seeing over 20 Santas and Mrs. Clauses in one spot. Jingle bells are ringing, Santas are belting their jolly “Ho! Ho! Ho!”s, and there is SO much red!! I love it. We headed to this great little spot in Silver Springs and decorated with ornaments on the trees, Elf-approved burlap Santa sacks, and other Christmas decor. It was such a fun experience and a pleasure to be a part of. Only 4 days until Christmas and I can’t wait!!!
SCOTLAND
I know I’ve said I don’t normally do this, but after much debate, I have slowly started taking on lifestyle newborn sessions. And I’m loving them! This particular session is of my new niece, Scotland. She was born on September 30th weighing in at 4 pounds 14 ounces!! Sooooooo teeny tiny!! I have been to the birth of most of my nieces and nephews, but sadly for Scottie’s birth my kids and I were sick and there was no way I was going anywhere near a baby or hospital then. It broke my heart! Thankfully I was able to do maternity photos (you can check those out here) before Scotland arrived, and then these newborn photos of her and my sister, Katelyn. I still can’t get over how tiny she was!! I loved being able to snuggle her and capture her little yawn, tiny toes, and her with her mom. I think Katelyn looks beautiful and I love her and Scottie together. They’re just so sweet. I am starting to enjoy newborn photos, done a little different 😉 So, here’s Scottie at just 11 days new!
Boho Chic – MADDY
I had the most amazing session with this beautiful girl. Maddy and I worked together on what we wanted for her session, and we both agreed that a boho chic feel would be awesome. I love the details of the lace shirt she wore, simply lovely!
It was the perfect summer night for Maddy’s session. We headed out to Glenbow Ranch near Cochrane and the lighting and location could not have been any better! I have to say how much I absolutely love photographing teenagers! Most are very comfortable in front of a camera and actually enjoy their photo being taken with this beauty being no exception! Thanks for the fabulous night and a huge thanks to my wonderful friend, Caitlin, for doing Maddy’s hair and being the perfect assistant!! Stylized Photo Shoot – Take 3
Here’s the last post for our photographers’ stylized photo shoot. It was such a pleasure working with these talented women and I hope to be able to work with them again.
As the night went on we started to lose light fast, but the sky looked incredible. Honestly the sky could not have been more perfect especially since we went from the soft ethereal colors to bold and dramatic. LOVED IT!!
Jody looked stunning in the burgundy and gold gown, and I’m glad Kristy and Liz changed. It was fun to put the 3 of them together. I didn’t want to stop shooting, we were having way too much fun. We shot until it was almost black out and then figured we better call it quits. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to shoot with these wonderful ladies and look forward to trying it again. I have so many more ideas for stylized photo shoots now.
