This beautiful family is about to become a family of 4. I simply love maternity sessions, the mom is always beautiful and glowing, even though she might not feel that way 😉 During our session I asked Jeff to think about the first time he saw their little guy when he was born, and to think about how he’s feeling to meet this new baby girl. Then tell Kim. Kim was almost to tears and having 5 kids of my own just thinking about the anticipation, excitement, nervousness and all the other emotions that go along with having a new baby I could barely get the words out. I don’t know what he told her, but I can imagine. It was an absolute pleasure working with this darling family again. Good luck with everything and I can’t wait to meet your new little one.
Eloping at Rundle Ruins
This wedding was such a fun experience for me – they decided to elope!! Are you kidding! That’s awesome! When she called me to discuss details she knew she wanted a location that would be good for light and a mix of urban and natural, did I have any suggestions. The Rundle Ruins in downtown Calgary was the first that came to mind and they said it would be great. If you ask me I think we hit those 2 details square on.
The ceremony was lovely, just the two of them, the bishop and his wife, and me. It was a privilege to have been able to be a part of this. Thank you for allowing me to share in your special day and I wish you all the love and happiness in the world!
Ethan and Janie got Hitched!
Well, you’ve seen their proposal and their engagement pictures so let’s just keep going… It was a cold and wet day when these two love birds got married in the Calgary Temple, but it couldn’t have been a more wonderful day. I’m so happy for my baby brother and his beautiful new bride. They make such a cute couple. It was such an honor for me to be able to photograph their wedding. Love you guys!!
This was adorable!! All the siblings, nieces and nephews and cousins sang a song Janie’s aunt had written lyrics to You Are My Sunshine. It was so cute! Then Janie’s aunts, uncles, bridesmaids and brother and sister sang songs that was sort of a timeline of their dating experience. Then my favorite part (and probably most embarrassing moment but totally worth it in the end) was when Ethan and Janie got up to say thank you to everyone for coming and all their support and at the end Ethan surprised Janie by busting out in song! Then slowly the whole family on both sides joined in with singing and dancing. There’s a small preview on my instagram feed if you’re interested in seeing it… We finished the night off with a dance and my kids didn’t want to leave they were having so much fun!
Paint Fight!
This adorable family drove from Lacombe so we could do family photos. And not just any family photos… They were going to have a paint fight! I was so excited for this! We started with the more traditional (and clean) photos then let the colors fly. I think the kids’ favorite part was covering mom and dad. It was so much fun, I wanted to join in! Then we finished up the session with cleaning up in the river. Perfect day!
Hohman – Part 2
After the stunning maternity shoot on Stephen Ave with Shaun, Mariana and their darling little man we opted to finish the session off with something a little more relaxed. We headed over to a little pond by Eau Claire and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
